If you build websites for other people, you eventually stop putting client sites on your own shared account. The next question is reseller hosting or agency hosting. They are sold as the same idea. They are not.
Reseller hosting: you sell packages
Reseller hosting is the classic model. You get a pool of accounts, you invent (or copy) packages, you bill clients, they often see your brand. You are closer to being a mini hosting company. That is useful if you want WHMCS, white-label control panels, and a price list of your own.
The catch is the pool. You pay for capacity whether you have sold it or not. One noisy client can still make you think about isolation. You also inherit the support: if you promise “we host this”, you are first in line when WordPress breaks — unless your upstream will white-label with you.
Our reseller plans start at £14.95 a month for a set of Webuzo accounts on the same LiteSpeed / NVMe stack we use ourselves.
Agency hosting: you pay for the sites you actually run
Agency hosting UK is built for studios that do not want to be a hosting company. You add a client account when you launch, suspend it when they leave, boost one shop for a sale, and pay per account. Volume discounts drop the unit price as the estate grows — down to £2.00 per account on the top tier, with no upfront minimum.
Each client gets isolated compute (2 vCPU and 2GB RAM as standard, boostable). A compromised brochure site should not take down the WooCommerce launch happening the same week.
White-label support and team logins matter more here than a WHM dashboard. Your designers should not share one master password.
A simple way to choose
- Choose reseller if you want to publish your own packages, use WHMCS, and treat hosting as a product line.
- Choose agency if hosting is a delivery cost, you hate unused resource pools, and you need to add or remove clients in minutes.
- Choose neither yet if you have one or two sites — start on standard UK web hosting and move when the admin overhead is real.
What clients actually notice
They notice downtime, slow checkouts, and whether you can get a human when email stops. They do not notice whether you used reseller or agency behind the scenes. Pick the model that matches how you bill and how you sleep.
If you are unsure, send us a rough client count. We will not upsell you into a pool you will not fill.
